Lorraine Biggs - painter

Lorraine Biggs is a painter and also creates works on paper. She has trained in WA and at the University of Tasmania with a Bachelor of Fine Arts with Honours. The main focus of her practice is the natural environment and she has explored a variety of different habitats through her practice. Most recently the highland country around the Cradle Mountain National Park and Vale of Belvoir has been the location of an Arts Tasmania Wilderness Residency. The flowered grasslands and alpine panoramas feature in her most recent work. The fine detail in the large landscapes is a major focus in her practice. Lorraine has been shortlisted for the Glover prize on four occasions and is represented in many collections including the Art Gallery of WA and Artbank.
