Additional information

Justin was born in Hobart in 1971. After initially working with drawing and photography, a move to Melbourne in 1998 led to printmaking courses at the Australian Print Workshop, where he learnt etching from printmaker Martin King.

Recieving a Scholarship through the APW in 2005 resulted in travel to the U.S., where he aquired a number of photographic printmaking techniques. This has allowed him to incorporate appreciation of the photographed image with etching.

Landscape has always been the key element of Justin's work, and influences include a childhood spent on farms, bushwalking throughout Tasmania and the landscape painting of the Song Dynasty, China (10th - 13th century).

This year a print was selected to be part of the Print Council of Australia print commissioning.
